Upgrade of the desalination unit of Donousa island – Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades

In the spring of 2021, following a public tender, our company YPAEN IKE, proceeded with the upgrade of the existing seawater desalination plant producing 150 m3/day on the island of Donoussa in the Municipality of Naxos & Small Cyclades, to produce an additional 80 m3/day, i.e. a total of 230 m3/day.

Within the framework of the implementation of the relevant contract, YPAEN IKE undertook the supply and installation of all the necessary electromechanical equipment for the upgrade of the unit (membranes, membrane vessel, filters, electric motor, etc.), made the necessary hydraulic modifications for the interconnection and support of all the new equipment with the existing one, made all the necessary electrical additions and modifications for the installation and interconnection of the new electrical equipment with the existing one and the maintenance of the existing equipment (high pressure pump, etc.).

Finally, it undertook the adjustment and parameterization of the individual elements of the desalination unit, so that they optimally respond to the requested capacity.
